FGN uses laminated spruce and maple tops for the MFA Full Jazz models. These can be made thinner than their massive counterparts and thus have better vibration properties, so that, contrary to popular belief, they are tonally equal and clearly less sensitive to feedback. This is particularly advantageous for slightly saturated or compressed to distorted sound.
